Alma Amaya was referred by the LAPD-Rampart Division to our Diversion Program (DP). Through the Program, Alma has gained new skills, enhanced her communication abilities, and increased her confidence in building healthy relationships and accepting responsibility. The DP classes have also helped Alma improve her behavior at home and school and has helped her improve her self-discipline and make positive life changes. Alma has improved her studies and plans to graduate from middle school in Spring 2024 with a strong GPA. Alma and her mother, Yajaira Rodriguez, have expressed gratitude to Hollenbeck PAL and its Diversion Program for her successes. Alama’s mom shared, “Oh wow, I’m so happy. Thank you so much. I can never thank you enough for helping me with my daughter.”
