T.O.P. – C.O.P. (Teaching On Policing–Communities On Patrol)

PAL's, TOP COP Program

The T.O.P – C.O.P. Program was developed to help at-risk and under-motivated youth become positive contributors in their community. The program targets middle-school-age children (ages 9-15) at risk of dropping-out or becoming involved in antisocial or criminal behavior. The program helps youth become involved (civic participation), improve their attitude and behavior, acquire personal discipline, develop leadership skills, and improve their self-esteem, enhance their physical fitness, learn about the negative effects of drugs and alcohol, explore careers in law enforcement/criminal justice, and develop an interest in “giving back” to their community.

PAL Youth During A InterviewThe GOOD NEWS KIDS Program is a comprehensive leadership development program for our youth that utilizes digital video production to help teach leadership skills and improve competence in many academic subjects. PAL's, TOP COP Program

Additionally, the program offers youth the opportunity to gain essential life and leadership skills through a twelve-week intensive leadership course that includes such topics as verbal and non-verbal communication; confidence building;  and critical thinking.  The twelve-week leadership training is designed to empower and motivate youngsters to achieve their academic and life goals.

Learning and Leadership Development Center

PAL EducationThe program assists youth ages 12-18 in developing meaningful and achievable academic, career, and personal goals.  The program aims at instilling in youth positive habits, resourceful thinking, and personal discipline. The program’s overall goals include to: 1) achieve a high rate of program youth enrolling in post secondary education; 2) teach youth practical leadership and life skills; and 3) help youth develop a “life plan” with set personal, career, and academic goals.

Sports for Kids”

This program provides at-risk and high-risk boys and girls, ages 5-18, with a wide variety of activities as positive alternatives to the dangers of the streets. Youths participating in this program can become involved in traditional sports activities such as soccer, basketball, and indoor soccer.

“Get it Straight”

PAL Education Is a twelve-week delinquency prevention and intervention training program for youth ages 11-18.  The program requires that parents attend each weekly session with their son/daughter. Program participants are involved in a comprehensive curriculum combining classroom instruction, personal development, conflict resolution skills, and communication exercises. In addition, field trips to juvenile detention centers are routinely scheduled to give youth a first-hand look at the inevitable consequences of criminal activity.
